
USask honoured with five awards at 2025 Prix d’Excellence Celebration
Hosted by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE), the awards program recognizes outstanding achievements in alumni affairs, communications, marketing, development, advancement services, and more
By SHANNON BOKLASCHUKThe University of Saskatchewan (USask) University Relations team was awarded two gold, one silver, and two bronze awards during the 2025 Prix d’Excellence Celebration.
Hosted by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE), this year’s Prix d’Excellence awards were presented to educational institutions across Canada for their unique and innovative work in educational advancement during two online ceremonies on July 8 and July 9, 2025.
USask received a gold award in the Best Annual Giving/Giving Day Initiative category for USask Giving Day 2024, a 24-hour fundraising event that was held on Sept. 10, 2024, in support of critical research, student success, Indigenous achievement, and visionary spaces.
USask received another gold in the Best Indigenous/Reconciliation Initiative category, for the Dr. Cecil King Indian Teacher Education Program Student Lounge Dedication. The Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) student lounge, located in the College of Education, was reopened as the Dr. Cecil King ITEP Student Lounge on Sept. 20, 2024.
USask earned a silver award in the Best Website category for the revamped Green&White alumni news website. The regularly updated website features articles about alumni and donors, short videos, and more.
USask received a bronze award in the Best Alumni Initiative category for the Alumni Book Nook, which showcases new books written by alumni authors. The Alumni Book Nook question-and-answer articles are featured on the Green&White website and are also shared through USask Alumni social media channels.
USask earned another bronze in the Best Advertisement or Poster (online and print) category for the Be What the World Needs digital campaign. The Be What the World Needs campaign spanned 10 years and raised $570,739,155 for more than 2,600 initiatives across USask campuses.
Prix d’Excellence is a national awards program recognizing outstanding achievements in alumni affairs, public affairs, communications, marketing, development, advancement services, stewardship, and overall institutional advancement.
