University of Saskatchewan honoured with six awards at Prix d’Excellence 2024

The University of Saskatchewan’s University Relations team was recently awarded three gold, one silver and two bronze awards by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE).

The Prix d’Excellence awards were presented during two online ceremonies on June 18 and 19, 2024, to educational institutions across Canada for their unique and innovative work in educational advancement.   
 
USask’s College of Education received Gold for “Best Indigenous/Reconciliation Event” for their Decolonizing Education Film Screening and TRC Event held on Sept. 28, 2023. At the event, the college hosted a screening of the film Understanding and Finding Our Way – Decolonizing Canadian Education
 
Another gold was awarded to USask Golden Grads for “Best Alumni Initiative.” The Golden Grads project celebrated the 50th anniversary of USask graduates and featured a virtual “Memory Lane” for honorees to share stories, memories, traditions and photos of their time in university. 
 
Two of the awards came for projects associated with the Be What the World Needs campaign, including the campaign launch event on April 18, 2023 (Gold) and the campaign launch video (Silver). 
 
Giving Day, a one-day fundraising blitz held last September, was awarded bronze for “Best Annual Giving/Giving Day Initiative” after raising more than $256,000 for 64 different projects across campus. 
 
In the category of “Best Creativity on a Shoestring” the advancement communications team brought home the bronze for their Instagram series, USask Scramble—a USask-themed quiz based on the popular Wordle game. 
 
Prix d’Excellence is a national awards program recognizing outstanding achievements in alumni affairs, public affairs, communications, marketing, development, advancement services, stewardship and overall institutional advancement.
